An international move comes with new experiences. The differences in experiences such as food, language, traditions, and cultural norms, may create a mental and emotional shock to your system within a few weeks of being on the ground. Your cultural shock may even come much later such as when you prepare to celebrate a major holiday that is significant to you but not in your location. If this happens, realize that these experiences and your feelings are normal and will eventually dissipate as you settle in and embrace your location.
